Review by Jon Sharp
This book is, like the proverbial football match, a game of two halves. The first half is a travelogue, as well-respected Christian author, Brian McLaren, visits the fascinating and unique Galapagos islands, learning about the species that live there, the fragile ecosystem and mankind’s impacts on them over the centuries since Charles Darwin’s famous expedition. The second half is a more theological reflection on how the trip impacted his faith, with thoughts on evolution, and the importance of being connected to and immersed in the beauty of the world around us to fully appreciate who God is and who we are meant to be, as stewards of his beautiful creation.
