“Ritual of Sakura”

Thought for the day – Saturday 11th July 2020

At Christmas and Birthdays I very often receive hand cream, shower gel, etc.  The hand cream I am using now is called The Ritual of Sakura, strange name, I thought.  On looking more closely it tells me:

“In Japan the annual flowering of Sakura (cherry blossom) has been celebrated for centuries and symbolises the beauty of life.  Makes each day feel like a new beginning.”

I am not sure it makes me feel like that, but it is a lovely thought.

In these days of slowly coming out of lockdown many of our days feel like new beginnings.  Simple things for many of us like going shopping we find our confidence is low and the first time is like a new beginning.  If you feel like this, you are not alone and to quote John Wesley’s final words (which the President and Vice-President are using this year):

“The best of all is
God is with us.”

Something to remember and pray about every time we venture out.
