Elizabeth Hepplethwaite

Hello my name is Elizabeth and I am a lay worker on the Gainsborough estate in Ipswich. I run the Little Lamb Toddler Group in the church and lead our ministries at Landseer Road Methodist Church (Ipswich Methodist Craft Club and Gainsborough Community Choir).

My passion is also to be outside of the church building, making new friends and building new communities.

I am very much into pioneer ministry which means doing things very differently. I strive to bring Christianity to new people in new ways. You can become a Christian absolutely anywhere for example in the library, at the BMX track or in the pub.

I am also the drummer for our modern worship band – which is another area I feel passionate about. There are some wonderfully powerful modern worship songs out there, which need to be sung more often!

One example of the pioneer work that I do is Pizza and Praise. I love running these sessions at Landseer Road Methodist Church on the first Friday of the month from 6 – 6.45pm. We eat pizza, learn to pray (using different approaches such as eating sweets!) and then sing modern worship songs with the live band, whilst the children are all dancing around at the front!

Another area of my life that I believe I have been called to is Christian Healing. I help Rev Jo Jacobs in Felixstowe at the Healing Services held at Trinity Methodist Church.

I am also part of the Engage team on the Ravenswood Estate which is an ecumenical project – meaning I work with Christians from other denominations, which is great fun.

When I am not working for the Methodist Church, I am teaching the piano, flute, singing and music theory at school.

In my spare time I enjoy walking Smithy and Murphy, our two Black Labradors out in the Felixstowe countryside or along the beach

Thank you for reading my profile. I look forward to meeting you soon.

God bless, Elizabeth.
