Lost!

Sometimes you just have to admit it.  You’re lost!   I will never know why my Sat Nav kept insisting that that Capel St Mary was right in the centre of Ipswich but insist it did.

“You have reached your destination”.  “Have I?  Is that right?  That’s Museum Street!”

By this time, I was getting extremely frustrated!  I was going to be late, and I knew my car way lying to me.  So, I turned to my mobile…

Me “Steve. Is Capel St Mary in the Centre of Ipswich”.

Steve Mann “No”

Me “Ok”

Steve “where are you?”

Me “I have no idea!”

Twenty-five minutes later Steve opened his door, and Karen presented me with a coffee. They were very kind.

There have been at least two other occasions where I have been totally lost.  It’s always a relief when you turn a corner and there’s someone with a welcoming smile and wave that says “you’ve made it!”

Have you ever been lost?

The bible talks a lot about being lost.  Not necessarily physically, but certainly spiritually.

Remember the story of Zacchaeus, the rich tax collector who climbed up into a sycamore tree to try to get a glimpse of Jesus? Not only did he see the Lord, but he welcomed Him into his home, the bible says, with great joy!  By the end of the day Zacchaeus was a different man. As Jesus prepared to leave, He said,

“Salvation has come to this house today, for this man, also, is a descendant of Abraham.  The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus finds those who are wandering, lost and afraid, and guides them home!

Halleluia!  What a saviour!
