Volunteering at MHA Norwood Residential Care Home

Here at Norwood, we are looking to expand and revitalise our Volunteer Support Group and are seeking people who would be willing to give up a few hours of their time per week, supporting our residents in personal interests such as spiritual support, social and wellbeing activities, gardening and befriending.

If you have a hobby or interest that you would like to share with our community, and would like to commit some dedicated time each week we would like to hear from you. Working alongside our Activities Co-Ordinator (Sarah Wood) and with the support of our Volunteer Co-Ordinator (John Philips), we would expect that you would commit to a few hours each week, on pre-determined days.

This volunteering role would be subject to a satisfactory DBS certificate, and 2 references – the costs of which would be covered. You would also be required to attend 2 Committee Meetings, and 1 Annual General Meeting per year as an official member of the Norwood Volunteer Support Group.

If you think this is something you would like to, and be able, to do, please do get in touch with our administration manager Anne-Marie Banks (Anne-Marie.Banks@mha.org.uk) and she will advise you of the application process.

Chaplaincy Volunteering at Norwood

At Norwood, faith is very important to many of our residents. As well as volunteers to provide spiritual support (see above), we are looking for volunteers who could assist with our Sunday afternoon church services, or join our rota to play the piano for our Sunday afternoon or Tuesday morning services. For more information, please contact our chaplain Ruth Loggie (Ruth.Loggie@mha.org.uk).
