The Pandemic – A Poem by Maureen Brown

THE PANDEMIC MIGHT LAST ALL YEAR
TRUST IN GOD AND NEVER FEAR
FRIENDS TOGETHER WE CANNOT MEET
EACH OTHER IN OUR HEART CAN KEEP

NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO ‘DOZE’
BEND DOWN AND TOUCH YOUR TOES
RAISE YOUR ARMS HIGH AS HIGH
ON TIP TOE REACH FOR THE SKY

RUN ON THE SPOT DO A SHORT TROT
KNEES UP ONE TWO, DON’T STOP
BRISKLY WALK ROUND THE ROOM
DANCE A QUICK-STEP WITH A BROOM

WALK UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS
OR RUN IF YOU THINK YOU DARE
DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN JUST SIT
A JIGSAW PUZZLE OR KNI
T

DISINFECT EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH
YOU CAN’T CLEAN TOO MUCH
THEN AT THE END OF THE DAY
THANK THE GOOD LORD AND PRAY
