1 Read as much of John chapter 14,15 and 16 as you can (but at least 14:15-27;
15:26-16:11). This is what Jesus was teaching his disciples before his death on the
cross. Why did the disciples lose hope when Jesus died? Why did they doubt the
promises of Jesus? Why do we live without claiming the promises of Jesus?

2 Read Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21, What is the “power” that he desires for
his friends? Where does this power come from, and what will it do for us?

3 List some people in the Bible who developed one or more of the fruit of the Spirit.

4 Why do Bible translations that mention “fruit” in Galatians 5:22, not make the
word plural “fruits”? How does the Christian develop these qualities – one by one ,
all together , instantaneously, painfully?

5 What is the best way of discovering what your gifts are as a Christian? How can
other Christians help you do this?

6 Read and think about 1 Corinthians 13. Why is love of this kind so vital and so revolutionary? How may it be developed in an individual and in a fellowship?
