Our District Chair, the Reverend Canon Julian Pursehouse, was the preacher at the ecumenical Choral Evensong for Christian Unity service held on Sunday 16th May at St. Mary-le-Tower Church in Ipswich. His message was one of recovery and unity.
The service was arranged by the Churches Together in Ipswich Town Centre with participation from Museum Street Methodist Church, Christ Church (URC/Baptist), St Mary at the Elms, and St Mary-le-Tower. The churches normally hold a unity service in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, but delayed it, in this pandemic year, to occur during Ascensiontide and Thy Kingdom Come.
A limited number of masked and socially distanced people from the four congregations attended the service which was also livestreamed, and the video can still be viewed.
