As a community of faith united in Jesus Christ, we are called to practice love, grace, and understanding. The story of Gura, our devoted bus driver in my home area, reminds me of the human tendency to remember mistakes over sacrifices. For a decade, Gura safely guided us on our journeys without error. Yet, when a single mistake occurred, it overshadowed all his years of faithful service.
Reflecting on Gura’s story, let us challenge ourselves to see beyond errors and instead honour the sacrifices and dedication that each individual brings to our community. As Mahatma Gandhi wisely said, “An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” This quote reminds us of the importance of forgiveness and the power of focusing on love and unity.
In our pursuit of Christ-like compassion, let us choose to remember and uplift the sacrifices, emphasizing the good over the mistakes. By doing so, we become a more compassionate and resilient body, embodying the true spirit of our faith.
May Gura’s experience, paired with Gandhi’s insight, inspire us to cherish and support one another, honouring the everyday sacrifices that edify our church and community.
Let us pray for our families, communities ,churches and workplace for the spirit of love, compassion and forgiveness as we serve each other and caring for each.
