A few days ago, we learnt that two ministers from Zimbabwe would be visiting the circuit for three days! Goodness, ten days (or so) to get ready! I definitely felt slightly panicky!
However, what a wonderful time we had!
Representative Synod was at Sheringham last Saturday (the 25th of Apil) and it was there that I met Dignity and Morrison.
Later that day, following a fish a chip supper, Saul and I were tasked with transporting our guests to the Premier Inn in Ipswich which we were more than happy to do.
On Sunday morning, Paulson picked them up and took them to his manse for breakfast and then Dignity went with him to Alan Road and Morrison went with Steve to Capel St Mary. They spent the rest of the day with Saul at Woodbridge, attending a service there in the afternoon.
On Monday Kath and I took them to the Suffolk Food Hall for breakfast before visiting one of our housebound members. What a wonderful time we had! We then went on to Orford where we had a fabulous lunch. Later that evening Paulson kindly took the gentlemen to Spoons in Ipswich, which Morrison and Dignity thought was amazing!
On Tuesday morning I picked them up and took them to Museum Street for a lovely breakfast. At the end of our meal Saul, Morrison and Dignity sang a song of thanks which was really moving. We then made our way to the train station and off they went off on the next leg of their journey!
So, what do I take away from their visit? Once again, I’m reminded that we are all sisters and brother in Christ. Regardless of where we were born! Regardless of culture. Regardless of our different experiences etc, we are family! And so, I thank God tonight for our brother Morrison and our brother Dignity and pray for God’s blessing upon them.
