My name is Nicky Seabrook and I am employed by the circuit as a Pastoral Worker.
I started in September 2017 with the aim of supporting the reverend Derek Grimshaw in three of his churches: Bramford, Bramford road and Museum street. Now that the reverend Joan Pell has taken over at Museum Street I share the pastoral role with her there.
It is a rewarding job visiting people in their homes, in hospital, in care homes or in the case of Museum Street sometimes at their coffee mornings on a Wednesday.
Much of time is spent listening to people but towards the end of my time I often offer to read a meditation from one of Edie Askews publications. Most people are keen to be prayed for and if they are no longer able to get to church I can offer them holy communion.
