Lectio 365
If you would like to explore a new resource that provides daily Bible input and prayer the Lectio 365 app could just be for you. I have found it to be helpful and inspiring, and a way of bringing a new focus into my prayer life. You can load the app into your phone or tablet or just look it up on Google if apps aren’t for you.
The resource is prepared by the 24/7 prayer movement headed up by Pete Greig. It is completely free and you can either listen to the morning and evening short sessions or read them from your phone, I pad or tablet.
Each short presentation is based on the principle of P.R.A.Y.
P is for pausing to be still.
R is for Rejoicing with a psalm and Reflecting on a scripture.
A is for asking God to help us and others and
Y is for yielding to His will in our lives.
There is a prayer of approach, and then other prayers and readings within these categories. At the moment the readings are around a Lenten theme.
The night time prayers are shorter than the morning ones but make use of ancient prayers and old or new hymns and worship songs as well as short Bible passages. I find the evening prayers to be particularly restful and ideal for listening to before drifting off into sleep.
Why not give it a try?
