Lay Employees (Lockdown) Let Loose!

You may be wondering what our Lay Employees have been doing since the restrictions on travel and meeting have come into force.  The answer is PLENTY!

They held a zoom meeting last week to share ideas about how to continue their work albeit in very different ways.  Here are some of the things they have been up to:

  • All of them are keeping in touch with people whether it is by zoom, whastapp, text, Facebook, phone or letter.
  • Most are trying to be ‘present’ when an activity is usually taking place.  We have a zoom toddler group running with the leaders demonstrating the craft, reading the story and taking the singing session!
  • Lots of creative ways of keeping families and children busy with posting craft ideas for display in windows, delivering materials and taking finished items to residential homes.
  • Easter Parcels of Craft activities and Chocolate !
  • Virtual choir is working on producing a recording!!
  • Working alongside community projects to support the vulnerable.
  • Huge effort to make the new Circuit website exciting, up to date and a ‘go to place’ for each of us
  • Any spare moments are being used to develop new resources!
