Joan’s Jottings for 12th April

Dear Siblings in Christ,

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

Our online worship service for Easter Day is now available as video or audio. Our Easter theme is Hope Unlocked as we think about how Easter reminds us that the resurrected Christ brings hope and joy to us even when we find ourselves behind closed doors feeling fearful and helpless. We will break bread together, so have a small piece of bread and a glass of water to hand.  All the music in this service was created from scratch this week; may it be a blessing to you.

I understand that it is your Methodist tradition to have an Easter offering for the Methodist Women in Britain. MWIB have asked us to postpone this offering until later in the year. Instead, I invite you, at this time, as you ponder Jesus’ servant leadership and his sacrifice for us, to financially bless ALL WE CAN, the Methodist relief and development agency; they are running an emergency coronavirus appeal to help equip vulnerable communities across the globe to combat COVID-19. Details about how to donate are on their website allwecan.org.uk. In the upcoming months, you might also remember FIND and their work with local Ipswich families, many of whom are in special need during this pandemic; their website is findipswich.org.uk.

Happy Easter!

I am keeping you in my prayers. May God’s peace be with you all,
In Christ
