Joan’s Jottings – April

Dear Siblings in Christ,

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

The gospel writer John tells us (John 20:1-18) that when Mary recognizes the gardener as the risen Jesus, she says, “I’ve seen the Lord.” Where have you seen the Lord in the past year? I have seen the Lord in the ways that you have been caring for one another, embracing each other with love and reaching out to your friends and neighbours. I have seen the Lord as you generously gave to causes that touched your hearts. I’ve seen the Lord as the Methodist Church spoke up for racial justice and care for the earth. I’ve seen the Lord in the ministries we have across the circuit that reach out to the wider community and embrace the lonely and support young families. The risen Christ is with us this Easter, and he’ll be here in the upcoming weeks too, transforming our lives and shining a light as we emerge from this lockdown. After this difficult year, my prayer is that that each of us may encounter Christ this Eastertide and see and recognize the Lord.

On Easter Day  you can choose between three services:

For the rest of the April, we have two worship options:

Later in the month on Saturday 10th April at 7 p.m. by Zoom, David Howlett from Landseer Road would be giving a presentation on the various statues that you can find in Ipswich. Bring your own refreshments!  (Contact us for access)

The April issue of our new joint magazine for the three churches has been published. Read it here.

Happy Easter!
In Christ
