William Glasse brings us information on “How can we keep from singing?”
Currently this is planned to be held at Stowmarket URC on 14th November
God’s people have always worshipped in music and song. Music has lifted our hearts, given
space for lamentation, strengthened us in hardship, bound us together, and given us a
voice to praise the living God.
This is a day for worshippers, writers, musicians and worship leaders to engage with three
practical aspects of music in worship. Come and learn from expert practitioners in
their fields. Bring your own experience in worship and song.
This was introduced at a Local Preachers’ Meeting just before we were all locked away. William introduced the concept of a Hymn Society Day aimed at worship leaders, preachers, ministers and anyone else interested. It would be a tribute to Martin Ellis amongst other things but really a chance to give people something fresh to think about but not radically different.
The programme has been agreed and the poster describing it in more detail is available for download by clicking the picture below. The caveat, of course, is that if singing is still not allowed then the even will be moved to a later date with all the same arrangements in place. We designed it that way.
