Guidelines for worship

The Ipswich Circuit Leadership Team have produced the following guidelines for worship :

We recognise that one of the things people have missed over the last 18 months is the ability to gather together and sing in church.

There is a great sense of relief that we are once again able to meet and sing in church, however there is also a sense of anxiety as we learn new ways of “living with the virus”.

As Christians called to “love one another as I have loved you” we have a responsibility to protect and care for each other.

Following on from the lifting of Government restrictions on the wearing of face masks and social distancing, the Ipswich Circuit Leadership Team have put together the following guidance for churches and Sunday Worship.

1. Wherever possible churches should have good ventilation – windows and doors open

2. We continue with “track & trace” recording of who comes to church

3. Hand sanitizer on entry to church.

4.We continue to stick to social distancing – chairs in church are kept at the 2m distance, or 1m + if wearing face mask (see below)

5. We encourage people to continue to wear face masks when gathered together inside for worship.

6. We encourage people, if they are comfortable to do so, to sing quietly again! (Whilst still wearing a face mask)

7. Refreshments can be served after worship, preferably outside (see below) with minimum amount people mixing in kitchen etc

8. Where possible meet outside to chat after worship.
