Free Hugs

Friends and family will be able to hug next week (with the use of common sense) as the UK eases Lock down restrictions. The return of hugs will be a moment of joy as hugging has a range of benefits on our physical and mental well-being. Sometimes, the best things in life really are free.

On the 21st July, 2016 I celebrated my birthday by giving Free Hugs in Ipswich Town centre. It was an amazing experience, something which I will never forget. I wanted to do something different for my birthday and secondly, after the EU referendum there was a slight rise in racial rhetoric. I wanted to make a difference by giving out Free Hugs on my birthday.

I met so many different people. Each had their own story to tell. I also learnt a lot.

I learnt that for the healing to begin, each and every one need to love and respect each other regardless of age, gender, religion, nationality or colour.

For we are all created in the image of God.
