We have booked a private screening for our next film, which will be Klara and the Sun.
The story follows Klara, an advanced solar-powered android (“Artificial Friend”) designed to prevent loneliness. Klara is chosen and purchased by a mother, to serve as a companion and helper for her bright teenage daughter, Josie, who suffers from a mysterious, severe illness.
As Josie and her family grapple with great loss, social inequality, and a fraught mother-daughter relationship, Klara’s innocent wonder, deep loyalty, and special fascination with the sun begin to bring light into their complicated world. Believing that the sun holds a powerful ability to heal, Klara embarks on an emotional quest to save Josie from heartbreak and mortality, ultimately questioning what it truly means to love and be human.
