A precious gift

I know that there are many false messages on Facebook but there are also some very good ones. I read this message a few days ago and it really appealed to me. Someone suggested that we repurpose old soup ladles into water bowls for bees and ladybirds. They suggest that you put some pebbles into the ladle and then add water and hang it up. The pebbles provide a safe place for the insects to land on so that they can have a drink. I have put mine close to some lobelias (one of my favourite flowers) as I very often see bees in them.

On the news today I listened to an article about a gentleman who was rescuing, mostly, baby hedgehogs who were dehydrated. For me screwing a hook into the wood and hanging up a ladle was a simple thing to do so I hope the bees and other insects find the water.

How many people throughout the world are suffering from a lack of clean water? It’s a precious gift from God and we need to respect it and not waste it. My car is dusty and has cobwebs around the wipers but it will have to stay that way until it is washed by rain. Apologies to anyone I give a lift to.

Dear Lord, we know that all your creatures have a purpose here on earth. Help us to help them and care for them.
