Following Leadership team discussion on welcoming newcomers to the village I decided to take some flowers to some new residents in the village.
To be honest it was completely out of my comfort zone and I didn’t really want to do it however I thought I should so a little prayer for courage went up! I put the flowers in my bicycle basket and cycled up.
On the way I met Adele, a friend who had recently moved back to Elmsett, and who was a recipient just a few weeks ago. Seeing the flowers and Parish Magazine, she asked me if I was going to deliver to a new resident to which I obviously replied, saying I was, but wasn’t looking forward to it as it was completely out of my comfort zone.
She said how much she had appreciated Liz calling when she moved in and thought it was a wonderful thing to do. That buoyed me up and I felt encouraged by it. She then went on to say ‘well if you don’t like doing it I am more than happy to do it just let me know when!‘
So was this my angel?
It was most certainly an answer to prayer as I also met a delightful gentleman called David Lloyd (I did check it wasn’t THE David Lloyd and he assured me he hasn’t got a chain of leisure centres!) He was so appreciative.
Oh ye of little faith Alison!
