I have been enjoying watching the programme on television about “The Amazon with Robson Green.” Part of the second episode dealt with where the Amazon was joined by its massive tributary called The Rio Negra. The Joining of the Waters is a short boat trip east from Manaus. The two rivers meet but they do not mix and I found it fascinating to watch it. The Rio Negra is really dark due to the decaying plant matter and it is slow moving and very dense, whereas the Amazon is lighter in colour due to the sandy sediment and flows much quicker. Apparently, it is visible from space. I hope the photo accompanying this does it justice as I took it on my phone having tried at least five times to stop the recording on the exact spot I wanted to.
In our life we are all different with many shades and tones of skin colour. We are very much affected by what we pick up as we live our daily lives. Do we let it make us bitter and unhappy or do we make something positive from it and live in harmony with others? God created each of us and we should love and respect each other regardless of colour or faith.
The two different rivers flow along beside each other without actually mixing but they work together just as we can all work together.
Thank You Lord that we can all learn from natural happenings in your wonderful world.
