In the Ipswich Round this week the Climate Action Group’s tip for ways to be green says, “Plant wild flower seeds. Not only will you enjoy the flowers, you can also enjoy a wider variety of wildlife enjoying them too.”
I was watching the news last week and there was an article about using dogs to plant seeds. The dogs were fitted with little pouches of seeds and these were dispersed as the dogs ran about under trees and in the undergrowth. They were able to get into spaces where humans weren’t. I thought it was a fantastic idea.
Other animals are used to help nature. Pigs can cultivate the soil as they snuffle about, using their snouts to turn over the earth. Certain cattle are used to keep rough grazing under control. Animals are a huge part of God’s creation and we must respect and look after them.
Thank You Lord for your animals and for all the love and good that they can bring. Help us to care for them and respect them.
