Uniforms

Over the last few days, we have seen a lot of people wearing uniforms. From the Veterans with their rows of polished medals to the men and women in today’s Armed Forces. The pride was there for all to see.

When I was nursing in the seventies I wore my uniform with pride too. Our blue dresses and stiffly starched white aprons were accompanied with our Falls. (White triangular headdresses) In those days you could get a good telling-off from the Matron if you were not correctly attired. Scrubs were only worn when working in theatre and you certainly did not go outside in them. Your uniform identified who you were.

Ephesians 6 v 13 says, “Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

A Prayer:         Thank You Lord for your truth in the Bible, your armour of righteousness and peace and for our readiness to stand up to evil. May our “uniform” identify us as one of your followers. Thank you, Father. Amen
