There is a children’s play park in front of our house. The other day my husband and I were watching a little toddler playing on one of the pieces of equipment. It had quite a steep slide and he was attempting to climb up it. He fell down but got up again and made another attempt but again he fell down. On his third attempt he crawled up it on his hands and knees but seemed to get a bit stuck near the top. The adult with him eventually came over, took his hand and helped him up to the top.
How often in our lives do we try to do something and fail? Do we get upset and give up or do we try again? Perhaps we fail again but eventually we almost succeed but we may need a helping hand to finally manage the last little bit. Do we have someone to help us finish our task? As the child was helped to climb to the top can we be of help to someone?
The good thing is that we have a Saviour who is always nearby and is just waiting to be asked to help. Thank You Lord for being our helper and friend.
