This online worship service for Trinity Sunday was led by Rev. Joan Pell. Scripture: Acts 11:1-18. Hymns are from Singing the Faith, numbers 11, 6 and 682. We break bread together in this service, so to partake have a piece of bread and a glass of water to hand. Video and audio available and the written text for the sermon. This is the seventh and last sermon in the series Tales of Peter’s Discipleship Journey.
From Pentecost onwards, Peter was used by God to do amazing things, acts that he had never done before, things that he had only seen Jesus do. Some of those amazing, bold and courageous things are told in the book of Acts. Peter has lived up to his name and is becoming the rock on which the church is being built. The story of Cornelius is a pivotal moment in the life of the early church and the Christian faith. Peters views were changing. What he thought he knew about God and God’s grace was being turned on its head.
