Dr Will Sangster, was a remarkable man and a superb preacher as anyone who remembers him will
readily confirm.
This book was published in the same year that, sadly, saw him depart this life.
There are three parts to this book – a biographical sketch, the memorial address given at
Westminster Central Hall by Professor Cecil H Pawson, a close friend, and a couple of excerpts
from two of his books (‘How to begin clean’ and ‘And after death – what ?’)and the famous sermon
that hit the headlines in 1953.
That sermon, highly relevant in Britain of the 1950’s, is still relevant to the Britain of 2021 which
just underlines the timelessness of the gospel, faithfully proclaimed.
To read this book so many years after a life lived in the light of the Saviour is to hear that inimitable
voice and to rejoice that Methodism could celebrate such a bright star in the panoply of the saints.
