On Saturday 26 th August at Woodbridge Methodist church, St John’s St, Woodbridge, the pianist and piano tutor Celia Bird and her 14 year-old grandson Wyatt Davey will give a concert of music from notable composers Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Shubert, Chopin, Chopin and Grieg. The concert will start at 12 midday. Refreshments, including homemade cake, are available from 10.30 am. There will be a retiring collection for the church’s Octagon Roof Repairs.
Celia Bird is a Grade 8 pianist, the highest Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
examination qualification. Celia claims that her 14 year-old grandson Wyatt is better than
she is. The only way of proving this is to come to the concert.
Woodbridge Methodist Church’s Octagon is a beautiful purpose-built large room adjoining
the church in central Woodbridge. The Octagon is used for rehearsals and concerts by Woodbridge Orchestral Society, local choirs like Love2Sing and yoga and dance classes.
The Octagon Roof started leaking about eight months ago, but because of the height and
specialist nature of the repairs, scaffolding was needed to obtain access.
