Just imagine!

A couple of Saturday’s ago I took the train to London, Liverpool Street, to meet my son. Richard had just relocated from Singapore back to the UK. He had quite a bit of luggage and not enough hands to move everything so I wanted to do my motherly duty and help him with it.

While I was waiting for him, I took notice of all the people rushing about who were either talking to their friends or talking to their mobile phones. There were so many different languages being used and different accents. There were very few conversations I could understand, which was probably good for the people to not have a stranger listening to what they were saying.

Imagine how all the Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem must have felt when the Holy Spirit descended and filled all the believers and they began talking in other languages. The devout Jews were amazed that they could hear the believers speaking in their native languages.

I think I would have been astounded and probably a little bit afraid if I could suddenly have understood everything that was being said around me in the station that day.

Thank You Lord for being able to hear and understand everyone in the world regardless of which language they speak.
