Joan’s Jottings for 15th May

Dear Siblings in Christ,

We give thanks this week that Boris Johnson has allowed a slight relaxing of the stay at home rules and laid out what the different stages will look like; we pray that there will not be a resurgence in coronavirus cases and for all essential workers who are working so hard, along with the sick and bereaved.

Next Thursday, 21st May, is Ascension Day. From then until Pentecost on Sunday 31st May, there will be a global wave of prayer called Thy Kingdom Come. You may have participated in this on previous years. You download a Prayer Journal and find lots more information on our Thy Kingdom Come page. If you would like a printed copy of the Prayer Journal, then let me know as we have a limited number of copies that we can mail out.

Sunday’s service will be available online at here as we continue our series Tales of Peter’s Discipleship Journey and hear about how after Peter’s denial that Jesus forgives and restores Peter and charges him to care for the sheep of God’s pasture.

And for your amusement today, try this video of the song the Longest Quarantine.

I am keeping you in my prayers. May God’s peace be with you all,
In Christ
