Poem – “I did my walk as instructed to do”

I DID MY WALK AS INSTRUCTED TO DO

BECAUSE THE ‘PANDEMIC’ IS WORSE THAN FLU’

I AMBLED ALONG PAST GARDENS OF COLOR

EACH ONE DIFFERING FROM THE OTHER

HEDGEROW BANKS WERE FULLY ADORNED

CONTRASTING TO THE GREEN OF THE LAWNS

ONWARD I STRODE AND INTO THE WOOD

THE AIR INSIDE SMELT SO FRESH AND GOOD

CROSSING A BRIDGE THE WATER WAS LOW

TANGLED WEEDS WERE STOPPING THE FLOW

STARTLED BY A NOISE FROM ABOVE

JUST IN TIME TO CATCH SIGHT OF A DOVE

STANDING STILL IN QUIET AND PEACE

WOODLAND SOUNDS WERE ALL UNLEASHED

REED-BEDS SWAYED IN GENTLE BREEZE

NATURE WAS HERE TO LOVE AND ‘SIEZE’

I DID NOT WANT TO MOVE FROM THIS PLACE

CREATURES, PLANTS, AND BIRDS ALL INTERLACED

THIS WAS A PIECE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH

ALL THINGS THAT ARE NATURE GIVING BIRTH.
