On Friday we had a Preparation Bible Study for the World Day of Prayer Service. We studied Psalm 139 and the Rev Paulson, who led the study, gave us much to think about. Verse 7 says, “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!”
I have the key to my neighbour’s house as I occasionally let their dog out for toilet breaks or check their mail if they are on holiday. They have security cameras on their doors which are linked to their mobiles. Even though I am doing what they have asked me to do I’m very aware that I am being watched as I enter their house.
Have you ever wondered how you would feel if you could watch a recording of everything you do, say or think? The envious thought, the bar of chocolate eaten in secret, the selfish action. I reckon I would be horrified. God must be sad at times. He made us unique and wonderful and I know I must try to be a better caretaker of his creation.
A prayer.
Heavenly Father, Thank You for always being there and loving us no matter who we are. Guide our thoughts and actions to be more respectful of ourselves and others and to live a life in which we would make you smile.
