Big Brother?

Do you ever feel that “Big Brother” is watching you? A couple of weeks ago I wrote about wearing my nurse’s uniform with pride. Well, today a photo popped up on Facebook of newly qualified nurses standing in the grounds of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. It was taken in the late 1960’s and it brought back so many memories. Most of the comments were about the fact that it was better, if perhaps not so comfortable, to have had to wear our starched aprons and headwear that got in your way than the uniform of today. I was quite taken by the coincidence of the article appearing.

The one thing that is not a coincidence is the fact that our Lord sees us all the time and he knows what we are thinking and doing. Psalm 139 assures us of this. The first few verses say, “O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.”

Tech can go wrong or be used to commit crime but we are forever grateful to You Lord for never stopping work and for always seeing us.
