Bees and Nature

One of my Christmas presents was the new Abba CD called “Voyage.” I think the music on it is really beautiful and the words to some of the songs are very inspiring. The title of the 8th track is “Bumblebee” and at our Fellowship Meeting we used this as the theme for our chat. We listened to the song (I had previously emailed the words to the folk who usually attend) and then we swapped stories about our experiences with bees and shared some poems about bees and nature.

A couple of lines in verse one say,

“A world without him

I dread to think what that would be.”

Indeed , where would we be without bees? Take a moment to think about the work bees carry out. How would so much pollination be carried out without our furry little friends?

The final verse of “Bumblebee” says

“Oh, yes, for now I’m in my garden

Watching clouds sail with the breeze

Feeling sad for those who’d never

 Hear the hum of bumblebees.”

Lord, help us to protect and care for our bees.
