On Tuesday our Open the Book team used the story called “A Happy Day” to lead the school assembly. It started off being very sad but ended happily. It was the Easter Story and the sadness was the Crucifixion of Jesus and the happiness was His Resurrection.
The teacher was really good in emphasizing that Easter is not all about chocolate but that it is about our Christian faith and how important these days are.
Are you looking forward to a “happy day” tomorrow when we can give thanks and celebrate that “Christ has risen and is alive among us.”
We do need to remember that the clocks go forward tonight as we don’t want to be the person coming into church when the service is almost over.
The opening verse of a hymn says:
“All you who seek the Lord who died,
your God for sinners crucified,
now, now let all your grief be o’er!
Believe, and you shall weep no more.
Let’s give thanks and celebrate tomorrow.
