A few days ago I opened my Office door and for once didn’t immediately close it again, something I have done many times even during lockdown despite having time on my hands. I just haven’t been motivated to even begin to tidy up in there. But then something prompted me to make a start. It probably won’t surprise you to know that I didn’t get very far because I kept coming across things I had forgotten about which I simply had to re-read there and then. This is one of those things that made me think.
Memorandum

We thank you for your recent instructions and, following our in-depth appraisal, have pleasure in submitting our report.
It is our opinion that the twelve men you have picked to manage your new organisation lack the background, educational and vocational aptitude for the type of enterprise you are undertaking. They do not have the required ‘team’ concept.
Simon Peter is emotionally unstable and given to fits of temper. Andrew has no qualities of leadership. The two brothers, James and John place personal interest above company loyalty.
Thomas demonstrates a questioning attitude that would undermine morale.
We feel it our duty to advise you that has been blacklisted by the Greater Jerusalem Business Bureau. James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, have radical leanings, and both registered high on the manic-depressive scale.
One of the candidates, however, shows great potential. He is a man of ability and resourcefulness, has a keen business mind and contacts in high places. He is highly motivated and ambitious. Accordingly, we would recommend Judas Iscariot as your controller and right-hand man.

It made me wonder what others see in me but far more importantly what God sees in me.
