Money bag

Psalm 119 v 71.
It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees

There was a man who was deep in debt. On his way to work each day, he walked past the door of a wealthy businessman. When the rich man learned of the debtor’s plight he decided to help him.

One day as the poor man walked by, the wealthy man threw a bag out the door and unintentionally struck him, slightly injuring him. When he picked up the bag, he heard the clinking of coins. Opening it, he was amazed to find that there was more than enough money to pay off his debt. Just then he heard a voice call out from the businessman’s door: “Keep it. It’s yours.”

Sometimes life’s troubles hit us like a heavy bag, knocking us down and causing us injury. But God can bring great gain into our lives through our burdens and trials. Rather than questioning God and grumbling at the burdens He allows, reaffirm your trust in His goodness. You’ll discover that burdens are actually blessings in disguise.”

Sometimes in life it’s hard to see good in bad things that are happening to us. Illness and worry can overtake us and it’s in times like these that we need to remember that God is with us and wants to help. Thanking God in our trials can turn burdens into blessings. Please pray for all those known to us who are in hospital or who are ill and suffering at home. May they recover quickly and know that someone is praying for them.
