I always liked to see what the Sunday School pupils had put on to the notice board.
Looking at one on a Church I was visiting I gathered that the children had been asked to draw their favourite Bible Character.
All of those that you would suspect were there, Peter, Mary, Paul and so on were all there, but right in the middle of them all one small boy had written boldly The Snake!
I chuckled at the thought of how he must have enjoyed drawing and colouring his lovely curly snake.
Then I suddenly wondered if perhaps his choice was the truest of all for are we not all regularly drawn towards The Snake? I feel I am anyway.
Our Minister recently asked us what question we would like to ask Jesus? My question was ” Why do I keep making the same mistakes? ” ….oh that snake!
Lord help us to resist the snake, and keep helping us.
