Could you say?

Have you been gripped by ‘The Traitors’ TV series?

It’s fascinating to watch people’s behaviour and what motivates them to turn on their friends, adapt their opinions depending on performances in challenges or throw away phrases, propose and undermine allegiances.

Also, what individuals will say to convince others of their constancy. It must be so hard it is to keep up a pretence over several days when you’re on camera all the time having everything you say and do scrutinised.

Jesus was the victim of traitors throughout His life: from King Herod, whose paranoia led to the massacre of all the baby boys in a quest to kill Jesus, the predicted King of the Jews, to the Jewish religious leaders who wanted Him silenced later in His ministry, to one of His closest acquaintances, Judas, who technically murdered in plain sight, planting a kiss and alerting the authorities.

Jesus commends faithful servants. Those who stick with Him to the end – whatever the incentives and motivations to do otherwise. It isn’t easy. It demands sacrifice. When we meet Him face to face, will we be able to say, ” I am, and always have been, a Faithful”?
