Joy!

Two weeks ago today I was sitting anxiously at home awaiting news of the birth of our 1st grandchild in London. The day dragged on and the evening came. There had been various messages about progress, and by 11.30pm I was exhausted! Our other son lives in Australia so he took over the “sideline encouragement” and by next morning we still hadn’t any news! Our circuit prayer meeting on zoom was due to start, and I have to be honest, I was in two minds whether to join as I was so anxious – all the more reason to pray, I hear you shout!

Just as we finished praying, I looked at my phone and there was a photo of the most beautiful new born baby, born as we were praying over her! (I am biased, of course).

A few minutes later there were tears of joy, and a heart overflowing with love.

If ever there was an example to answered prayer, here it was in the miracle and beauty of newly created life.

Prayer: Abba, Father, you knit us together in our mother’s womb, you knew each us before we were born. We praise you for your love, we adore you for you majesty, we thank you for the miracle of a new born baby. We do not know what plans you have for each of us. Help us to put our trust in you, may each new life see your face in those who surround them. Most of all we thank you for the birth of your Son Jesus Christ, who came and lived among us, so that we could see your face and draw closer to you. AMEN
