When the Spirit of truth comes,
he will guide you
Call To Worship : Psalm 8 : Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a strong-hold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them] a little lower than the angels and crowned them] with glory and honour. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their] feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
The Lord’s prayer : Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, Forever and ever. Amen.
Prayer of Adoration and confession: One God, holy God, sovereign of creation, and source of all life and blessing; you are all beauty, all justice, all truth.
In the beginning all that was made was good, and we could see your image in ourselves, drawing all into harmony with your joy.
Forgive us, loving Creator, that we have failed to honour you with worship of simple purity and lives of humble truth. Accept us, through your own steadfast mercy, this day and forever. Amen.

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Sermon: When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you.
Our world today as we watch the news everyday is broken something must be done. I hope you agree with me that we need the Spirit of God to guide us in every area of life.
God the father is the lover, God the Son the beloved is the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit is the love. The church as the agent of transformation needs the guidance of the Holy Trinity. God the father send his son Jesus and Jesus send the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is doing the work of the Holy Trinity through the church. Hence the church shall never lose its power.
Illustration: How dangerous is it to drive a car at midnight in a foggy with a sat nav offline. Get lost, confused, depressed and disturbing other cars on the road.
The disciples of Jesus were with him for three years seeing all what he was doing but could not understand his message of his departure
They were not ignorance of his messianic power, but their misunderstanding was because of their unrighteousness, guilt and spiritual blindness.
The influence of heretic movements caused their misunderstanding as the Israelites’ when they worshiped Baal instead of Yahweh. One would wonder how we interpret the word of God in our midnight experiences today.
Jesus promised the coming of the Holy Spirit as a revealer of all things
When he comes everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved
The Holy Spirit will guide us in all things if we are connected to him our spiritual sat nav,
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life he demands justice and compassion as we spread the Goodnews to the world
To all those who received him were given power to become the children of God. Amen
Prayer: May the good Lord bless us all as we remain connected to the love of God through the power of the Holy Trinity. Holy Trinty guides us to the truth of His word. We pray for the victims of social injustice and the vulnerable in our communities. In Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
