The Cross in my pocket

Many years ago, a friend crocheted a cross bookmark for me and gave me a copy of the poem, “The Cross in My Pocket.”

The poem serves as a reminder of the importance of having a relationship with our Lord. It reminds me to be thankful for all my blessings and to aim to serve Him better in my daily life.

During this week we have been sharing meditations on the journey to the cross made by Jesus. The journey was made so long ago but still shared today with as much relevance as two centuries ago. We started the week full of joy but as the week has progressed, we have become sad and in despair after the horrendous death of Jesus on the cross, but we know that we are able to look forward to Sunday when Jesus overcomes death and rises again. We are so thankful that the love of Jesus is unconditional, full of forgiveness and endures forever.

So, I carry a cross in my pocket

            Reminding no one but me

That Jesus Christ is Lord of my life

If only I’ll let Him be.

Thank You Lord Jesus that You died so that our sins may be forgiven.
