Guide me!

In June last year, my wife and I spent four days based at a hotel near Chester and on our first day we visited that lovely City. We had two unsuccessful attempts to use the Hop-on & Hop-off facility despite using the printed map and checking the timetable at one of the stops. After some refreshments at a superb café, we were advised how to start the famous Wall Walk around the city. After a while, we came to a large road junction with no indication as to where we should go.  Resting on a low wall, I discovered a military museum and entered to ask for help. After a few dialect problems were overcome, we resumed our walk blessed with lovely warm weather, even if it meant having to carry our jumpers and anoraks.

Later, we benefited from the Hop-on & Hop-off facility and as we studied the map were amazed to discover that the Wall Walk was clearly identified. We had the help available all the time but were unaware.

I realised that when we are confronted with problems and uncertainty in our Christian life, we may always have the answer with us. A knowledge of the Bible, a concordance or even a Google search may provide the help we need. Prayer doesn’t always give us the answers as quickly as we would like, but it may remind us that our relationship with God means He will never leave us or forsake us and His presence will help us.
