I recently saw this saying and I really like it.
“A person’s most beautiful asset is not a head full of knowledge, but a heart full of love, an ear ready to listen and a hand willing to help others.”
Each little part has a simple but worthwhile message. You don’t have to be very clever to be able to show love and care to others.
There are times when all you need to do is sit quietly and listen when someone needs to talk.
Sometimes a little bit of help might be just picking up an item which has been dropped by a stranger.
The following prayer was written by Dame Gertrude More (1606-1633)
O my God, let me walk in the way of love
which never seeks self in anything whatsoever.
But what love must it be?
It must be an ardent love,
a love of charity,
a humble love,
and a constant love.
O Lord, give this love into my soul.
Amen.
