Through the eyes of the child

As I write this TFTD the news is full of accounts of rioting in various towns and cities in the UK (excluding Scotland). This all started when false information was disseminated Online about the perpetrator of the murder of three innocent girls attending what should have been a fun dance class in Southport.

On Sunday a couple who are regular members at Elmsett attended Sunday Worship with their grandchild. As we had no other children on that Sunday, the grandparents were asked if they were happy for their grandchild to stay in for the whole Service or for our Junior Church leader to find some activities. The grandchild was quite happy to stay in reading a book, or drawing.

At the end of the Service we were shown this beautiful drawing which was such an intricate interpretation of our Worship area – including the preacher!

What is so encouraging and a message for us all, is that the artist is similar age to those 3 girls, and comes from an extended family of Christians and Muslims, such a powerful example of tolerance, love, understanding –

“Through the eyes of a child.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you sat with the rich and the poor, with locals and foreigners. We pray for the areas of our society where intolerance and hatred has been stirred up and people live in fear. We pray that we can be examples of love and tolerance, kindness and acceptance of others. Help us to see you in action within our society “through the eyes of a child.” AMEN

(Apologies for any who have read our church Facebook page, but I felt this was a God given opportunity to share further afield – with consent)
