Hidden treasures

The other day I noticed little bits of white poking out from the leaves on my Helleborus. Some of the blooms were almost above the leaves but on separating the leaves there were loads of blooms still making their way slowly skywards. When they all grow a bit more I’m going to have a beautiful plant with lovely blooms. These hidden treasures are growing but are remaining unnoticed until I part the leaves.

This made me think about people’s lives. How many of us keep our talents and skills hidden until someone discovers them. We feed our plants and water them if necessary. (Not so much this year as we’ve had quite a bit of rain). How do we feed and nourish our friends and acquaintances?

Encouragement can play a huge part as can companionship. Welcoming strangers and those known to us, into our church, whether it is on a Sunday or during the week to one of our many activities is essential. Watch and see the results when hidden talents are revealed.

Thank You Lord for the love and encouragement you give to us. Help us to help others to share this love.
