The Story of the English Bible Ambassador Productions, 2005 dvd 52 minutes out of print
ISBN 978 1 840 301 663
This film gives a straightforward account of how the English Bible came about with the contributions of Wycliffe. Hus, Erasmus, Gutenberg and Tyndale.
Using helpful historical explanations by historians, the story is narrated chronologically from the
dark days of the medieval church, John Wycliffe and the Lollards, to the tireless work of William
Tyndale who gave his life to translation and paid with his life quite literally for doing so.
The contribution of the invention of printing by movable type gave an important impetus to the
spread of the printed word, leading to the upheaval of the Reformation.
Altogether a serious and reliable historical account.
