Start again

How can God be there when all I seem to be doing is “Starting Again”?

Isaiah 43:- v18-19

“Forget the former things, do not dwell in the past”

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up, do you not perceive it?

I am making way in the wilderness and the streams in the wasteland.

When Isaiah wrote this, there was hope for a coming messiah. So, everything had to be “made new” Asking for God’s forgiveness, if you had harmed others, hurt others feelings or even just gone ahead with something that was almost ignorant of God.

Starting again is difficult, all the memories that we have, photographs, emails, letters and other people’s opinions are always with or around us.

How can we start again? We will always have that to carry around with us.

Who can we trust, how do we stay away from those wrong paths, the selfishness of others and being made to feel cornered and not listened too?

We may feel isolated, ignored, scared and we may fall into the same footsteps as we have done before, although these will be leading us in the same direction, its easier for us to deal with as, we’ve been here before and we know what to do. Breaking out of these ruts is difficult, you may have formed your life around the behaviours that are needed to get along, you may have put yourself into a one-way system, where all the giving is done by you, there maybe controls and rules that you now must follow and even though you talk to them about it, nothing ever changes.

God is not a one-way system, our prayers are always heard, our silent cries for help never get ignored and God puts people into our lives that can guide or help us along this part of our journey.
