On looking through my Leprosy Mission Christmas Catalogue I came across a tea towel headed “A Good Friend Tea Towel”. There are many quotes of what friendship means all over the tea towel. Some are:
Friends are the flowers in the garden of life.
Best friends always stay to dry up.
A true friend makes themselves at home in your kitchen and puts the kettle on without asking.
Good friends are like stars, you don’t always see them, but you know that they are always there.
And last, but by no means least:
A good friend is a blessing from God.
A hymn comes to my mind, which I think we all know, verse one says:
What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer.
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.
I am very fortunate to have some really good friends, but the very best is Jesus.
I hope, and my prayer is, that you have Him as your very best friend too.
