Every drop counts …

A while ago the city of Hong Kong was blanketed with posters showing a single drop of water splashing into a pool. Each poster bore the words “Hong Kong Against Corruption.” The message was clear—integrity or dishonesty permeates a city one person at a time.

It’s easy to compromise in little things because they seem to make no difference in society at large. We think, “Why shouldn’t I alter the truth, pad my expense reports, or use my employer’s time for personal projects when everyone else is doing it? I’m just one drop in a bucket!” Exactly. And every drop helps determine the contents.

What would it mean to our families, our neighbourhoods, our cities if you and I lived with integrity according to God’s guidelines? Let’s do it! Every drop counts.

I think this image is very simple but extremely powerful. If you have a leak in your plumbing and it is just a drip, think about how wet it can get over a short period of time. A drop becomes a puddle and if it’s not sorted everything around is damaged. The same principle can be applied to improving our planet.

If everyone made one small change, perhaps have more meat free days or walked more, then this could build into something huge. Let’s remember that integrity is having a Christlike character and that every little drop is precious and counts.
